Key Points (Plain English)

  • Demumuu is not an emergency service. We do not contact 911 or dispatch help.
  • Alerts may fail. Internet outages, email spam filters, or device issues can prevent delivery.
  • You must have consent. You promise you have permission to add your trusted contacts.
  • You are responsible for your safety. Use Demumuu as a convenience tool, not your only safety plan.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Demumuu mobile application and related websites or services (collectively, the “Service”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in certain jurisdictions) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. The Service

Demumuu is a safety check-in tool. The Service allows you to:

  • Set a check-in schedule (e.g., daily at 9:00 AM).
  • Choose a grace period (e.g., 24 hours after a missed check-in) before an alert is triggered.
  • Add trusted contacts who may receive an automated email alert if you miss a check-in and your grace period expires.
  • Create an optional Emergency Note that is shared only if an alert is triggered.

4. IMPORTANT: Not an Emergency Service

Demumuu does not provide emergency services. We do not contact police, fire, EMS, 911, or other emergency responders.

  • Demumuu is not a medical, mental health, or crisis intervention service.
  • If you are in immediate danger or have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.
  • Demumuu may not work during outages, low battery, airplane mode, or other technical failures.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for using the Service safely and lawfully. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information, including your trusted contacts’ email addresses.
  • Obtain consent from each trusted contact before adding them, including consent to receive automated emails from Demumuu.
  • Maintain your device (battery, connectivity, and settings) so that check-ins and alerts can function.
  • Not misuse the Service to harass, spam, or send unlawful content.

6. Alerts & Delivery

You acknowledge that alert delivery is not guaranteed. The Service depends on third-party networks and providers and may be affected by spam filters, connectivity issues, delays, or outages.

You agree that you will not rely on Demumuu as your only safety measure and that you will use additional safety practices as appropriate.

7. User Content (Emergency Note)

You may store an “Emergency Note” in the Service. You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your Emergency Note solely to deliver it to your trusted contacts if an alert is triggered.

You agree not to include unlawful content, threats, hate speech, or instructions for wrongdoing. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. Fees & Payments

The Service may be offered for free or with paid features. If we offer subscriptions or paid features, pricing and billing terms will be shown at purchase and processed through the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play), subject to their terms and refund policies.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its content (excluding your Emergency Note) are owned by Demumuu and/or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle information. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk, legal exposure, or harm.

12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

As-Is Disclaimer: The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Demumuu and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Demumuu from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms, including adding contacts without consent.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Company is established, without regard to conflict of law rules.

(Note: Please verify the specific jurisdiction with your legal counsel before publishing.)
